Some very dodgy answers coming up here.
The Trojan War was almost certainly a real war. There definitely was an ancient city called Troy that was around during the Mycenean era of the late Bronze age when such a war would have ocurred, but the city itself survived well into the Roman era, more than 1000 years after the war would have taken place. As somebody has already mentioned, it is in the North West corner of Asia Minor. This site was excavated by Heinrich Schliemann in the late 19th century.
The archeological evidence for a huge war is scanty - the odd arrowhead, some destruction of houses, some evidence of burning or famine - it is made more difficult to excavate because every time Troy was destroyed people just built on top of the ruins (the site is an amazing strategic position commanding trade from Greece to the Black Sea). What is commonly believed by modern scholars is that if Homeric Troy (the Troy of the Trojan War) did exist, it was probably destroyed (and burned) in 1190 BC.
As far as the accuracy of the events of the Iliad go, (whether you are interested in the giant horse, ten year siege, Helen of Sparta, or millions of people dying) if you are really interested, you'll need to join the multitudes of arguing academics!
The link below has a fairly technical discussion of the history of Troy, including the Trojan War.

Yes. The Trojan War was an actual war. The location is incorrect, however. The actual location is the east coast of present day England and the northern coasts of Belgium, France and the Netherlands.

Yes, and it was fought in a city located in what is now referred to as Asia Minor( Anatolia) . It was incredible. A siege, spanning 10 years in duration, and the incredible ingenuity of Odysseus, who constructed the Trojan Horse of the materials available (i.e. the Greek fleet). It is an amazing story.
The history channel focused an entire episode of "Ancient Discoveries" around it, and if memory serves me correctly, it was the pilot episode.

Yes it was! They actually found the city of Troy and physical evidence to prove that a ten year siege on the city did occur.
