10/12 = 5/6

9/10 - 3/5 =
9/10 - 6/10 = 3/10

2/9 + 1/3 =
2/9 + 3/9 = 5/9

3/4 + 4/5 =
15/20 + 16/20 =
31/20 = 1-11/20

5/6 + 4/9 =
15/18 + 8/18 =
23/18 = 1-5/18

7/8 - 2/6 =
21/24 - 8/24 =
13/24

1/6 + 5/12 =
2/12 + 5/12 = 7/12

7/12 - 1/4 =
7/12 - 3/12 =
4/12 = 1/3

3/5 = 15/25

9/2. It's the only one greater than 1.

You can't add fractions with unlike denominators for the same reason that you can't add apples and elephants. They are two different things.
