The 1GHz Celeron is based on the PIII. It could be either Coppermine- or Tualatin-based. You'd have to get CPUID to find out for sure.

The difference between the Pentium III and the PIII-based Celeron is that the Celeron not only has less L2 cache, but slower front-side-bus speeds.

A Celeron processor and a Pentium are two different types of processor.

Celeron 1.0Ghz is either based on Coppermine or Tualatin cores. These same cores are used in Pentium III.
