The first step in curing paranoia is being able to realize you have a problem.

It is almost always pathological, in that it prevents the individual from being able to cope with a real threat and obscure his/her ability to perceive reality.

for the inflicted, the users of these mechanisms frequently appear crazy or insane. These are the "psychotic" defenses, common in overt psychosis, in dreams, and throughout childhood. They include:Denial - a refusal to accept external reality because it is too threatening. There are examples of denial being adaptive (for example, it might be adaptive for a person who is dying to have some denial
Distortion - a gross reshaping of external reality to meet internal needs
Delusional Projection - frank delusions about external reality, usually of a persecutory nature

Seldom has there been such a state that many of the delusional paranoids are in, such a mass affliction, it is rare indeed and is most likely the result of some sort of brainwashing, which is almost always incurable.

These are some really sick psycho individuals. You can easily identify most because they will always talk hatefully about Bush or Conservatives.

A psychiatrist is what is needed.

No, it is the opposite of it.

The cure for liberalism is professional help and forced hard work. Most liberals live in emotion, which is grossly unhealthy. Hard work builds character and respect. They can use that too.

Sadly, time and life experience is the only thing that is capable of 'maturing' a liberal. Unfortunately, there are far too many developmentally delayed and others that just never grow up.

Quarantine is the only cure for liberalism.

"Common sense is what tells people the earth is flat and sun revolves around it." -- unknown

The whole idea of common sense is a logical fallacy. People who can't come up with actual support for their opinion just say it's common sense, as if that proves anything.

Is logic the cure for conservatism? Is a conscience?

No, liberalism is part of the 2-party system that this country needs. (and needs very badly, I mite add). You can hate us, but apreciate us. What if we liberals weren't here? OR, what if you conservatives weren't here and it was a 1 party nation in favor of the left? It'd be bad, huh? just like libs think 1 party conservative rule would be bad. we need 2 at least main parties. So at least think of that during your liberal-bashing.

I certainly hope it's the cure for this farce the far religious right has perverted conservatism into.

How many more soldiers have to die before your christian morals kick in? Or will it only be over when Haliburton has bled Iraq and the U.S. for all it has that you'll find Jesus again?

No, the 'cure' for liberalism would be to throw all sense of morality and civility out the window and become a conservative.

Liberal is not a dirty word. It is not evil to insist that all Americans have affordable health insurance, to decry the ever-widening gap between the richest and the poorest, to demand a decent living wage, to insist that corporations must balance concern for the environment with the bottom line, to ensure that all Americans have the right both to vote and to have those votes counted, to guarantee that women have the right of reproductive choice without government interference, to stop the obscene influence of soft money bribery of parties and candidates, and to restore human dignity to all Americans regardless of race, gender, age, sexual orientation, or disability. It is not "fringe" to think that the way we treat one another and other people is more important than the way we express our beliefs; to find more grace in the search for meaning than in absolute certainty, in the questions than in the answers. We see ourselves as a spiritual community in which we discover the resources required for our work in the world: striving for justice and peace among all people. Liberals are motivated by Love, not by religious intolerance, insufferable arrogance and disdain of those deemed "different".

I am Catholic, I am Christian. I am a mother, a grandmother, a sister and a daughter, a nurse. I am an American.. and I am proud to say, I am a liberal.

What do our opponents mean when they apply to us the label "Liberal?" If by "Liberal" they mean, as they want people to believe, someone who is soft in his policies abroad, who is against local government, and who is unconcerned with the taxpayer's dollar, then the record of this party and its members demonstrate that we are not that kind of "Liberal." But if by a "Liberal" they mean someone who looks ahead and not behind, someone who welcomes new ideas without rigid reactions, someone who cares about the welfare of the people -- their health, their housing, their schools, their jobs, their civil rights, and their civil liberties -- someone who believes we can break through the stalemate and suspicions that grip us in our policies abroad, if that is what they mean by a "Liberal," then I'm proud to say I'm a "Liberal." - John Fitzgerald Kennedy-
