I just love to ride my kapcai eventhough I have cars. Cuz for me, TIME is MONEY. If I drive, I have to waste time to search for parking, traffic jam etc. Another thing is, I can save my money on parking, fuel, toll etc. Also, don't u think it's inefficient to drive a car alone? u only fill 20% of the total capacity (1 person/5 space, general car) whereas when u ride motorbike u can fill up to 50% of ur capacity. rain & safety is not a problem. When it's rain, u can wear a raincoat. And about safety, driving a car sometimes is not safe too. Most accident involving motorcyclist are due to car's negligence (cars went to opposite road, just like the police case recently). Oh yeah, motorcyclists are not rempit ok. Heheh. Cheers!! =)

We still have to get to work and the grocery store. What I can't understand is why people are still buying big suv's and hemi pickup trucks when their entire family would fit in something like a honda civic...

It would take me 3 hours to get to work each way using public transportation. Needless to say purchasing 2 gallons of gas to travel 80 miles each day saves me 6 hours of sitting next to "who knows what" on the bus and I can stop where and whenever I want to shop etc.

Note about electric cars: the first thing to remember is that you give up the airconditioning system and defroster plus your range really sucks. I drove an electric car through the last 2 years of high-school, its cool for a very short time then a royal pain in the rear.

Well, yes, I will have to keep driving no matter how much money it costs me. My only cost is really gas, since I have no tolls on my way to work and my work is only about 10 minutes away.

I've always thought it was silly for people to work 2 hours away from their home. That must cost so much money per year just to GET to work.

The money isn't an issue to me. I don't have toll ways where I live, nor do I have to pay for parking. My husband and I just recently traded in our Chevy s-10 pick up for a Ford Explorer 4X4. Do we need that SUV? No, we only have one child, so it is just the three of us, but it is incredibly roomy, and comfortable and we can afford it.

Because I live in the middle of nowhere, it's a 10-12 mile drive in either direction just to get to the supermarket. Not to mention doing stupid stuff like going to work, taking my trash to the dump(yes I live in one of those areas) and taking the kids places. So basically I have not other options.

people feel more secure driving their own car,and are willing to pay the price. We spoiled people in the 1950's by putting a car in every garage.Mass transit is still the way.or ban gas cars in city limits, and only allow electric, and scooters, and gas powered golf carts. The city's are where most cars sit and park while waiting to move 3 or 4 feet a minute. What a waste.

Because we need or want to go to places that are too far to walk, and we do not want to subject ourselves to public transportation.

Most people want to travel in comfort, and not worry about who they will be forced to sit next to on their journey. A car gives you the freedom to stop when and where you want, and to have the music that you want to hear, if any, playing.

The cost of driving is outweighed by the other costs of other transportation!!

We need to travel to work, school and do groceries. People don't always live within walking or cycling distance. Public transport in my area is very infrequent and unreliable. People are so busy these days trying to juggle their schedules that they don't want to waste time waiting for buses and trains that are constantly late and vastly overcrowded. If government's spent more money on providing an efficient reliable public transport system more people would use it.
