We are looking in the range of a 200,000-300,000 house on the east coast or a 300,000 to 400,000 on the west coast. We are looking to have great schools and ocean access. Have always lived in the midwest and want more access to farmers markets and natural organtic, healthy living.Need answers soon because we are on the market and ready to go! Thanks

Torrance, CA is a wonderful place to live. Our low temps rarely dip below the mid 50's and the schools are very highly regarded. We are just a couple of miles from the ocean, have a farmer's market Tues and Sat, and Toyota, Honda, and Nissan are all headquartered here. The upper end of your housing range may be just a little low for a decent house here, but not impossible. Also not far from Hollywood, Disneyland, San Diego, Seaworld, and tons of other fun adult or family things to do. Feel free to contact me if you want to know more.

You list a number of criteria that are exclusive of each other. First, your warm year round is opinion. I personally believe anything without frost is warm. If that is your way of thinking that only gives three locations:southern florida, southern gulf coast of texas, and southern california. You next criteria list 200-300,000, or 300-400,000 on the west coast. You might be able to find a real fixer-upper in fl or tx for that but not in california. As far as ocean access you will need to increase your budget by double, and finally the farmers markets seem to dwindle as you get closser to the oceans. You can have any two of you four requirements, but only two on the budget that you suggest.PP

I am from Miami and honestly you can't get anything with ocean access for that price range! 200s - 300s can get you an starter house about 15 mins drive from the beach but not inside a gated community. I mean honestly, you are not going to be in the ocean 24/7 or even once a week once you settle here........ Beach front property are not only expensive but carry a high annual property tax...... 5 miles from the beach is not that bad.......

You want a house in a east coast community. You want a house on the beach. You want a house in a great school district. For $200,000 to $300,000??? Can I assume you are not planning to live in a cardboard box? If so, you need to seriously rethink this plan. It's not possible.
