I bought a used computer with windows 2000, and i can't get past the password screen at startup.?

I tried putting it in another computer as a slave to erase password protect at startup, but had no luck

Hey there! Try to log on in the adminstrator account. By pressing F8 (during reboot) to start in safe mode, you might see the administrator and the other accounts. Go to the Administrator account and create your new account. I don't know if this will work in Windows 2000 (but it worked in my Windows XP), but just give it a try. Thanks. :)

Suggest that you purchase a very small item like a mouse and then purchase Windows XP Home, or Pro as OEM. This way you will only pay about $98.00 for XP Home.

Microsoft does not support any platforms below the platforms mentioned above.

You will not get any critical updates and just about all their software only supports XP.

Reformat yourself if you know how, or have a computer shop reformat for you with the latest platform.

Go back to where you bought it and ask them for the password, sometimes computer techs can get it out but usually not

call the manufacturer of the computer. they will direct you on how to reset the computer without typing in a password.thats what i did and it worked fine..
