Amusement park, perhaps. There's lots of great stuff there.
Roller coaster park, definitely. You can't beat America's roller coast.
Thrill park, yes, for the same reason above.
But Theme park, no. There are many other parks where the theming is much better.
Disney World is one example. Just look at some of the rides and themed areas there. Tomorrowland, Disney/MGM Studios and their rides like Rock-n-Roller Coaster or Tower of Terror. Or at Epcot which has the World showcase. Seriously, does anything at Cedar Point come close to Test Track or Mission: Space?
Universal Studios is another themepark that's better. Return of the Mummy, Jaws, Men in Black, T2-3D, Back to the Future, etc. Not one ride, nor area at Cedar Point can come close on theming.
Islands of Adventure, same thing. Not only is each area at IOA better than any area at Cedar Point, but shall we list some rides too? Spiderman, Poseidon, Dueling Dragons, etc. The list goes on and on.
So to answer your question, no, Cedar Point's not the best theme park in the world, probably not even in the top ten. But it is an awesome park in many, many ways!

YES IT IS!!!!! I have lived by there all my life and out of all the other places I have been there is nothing like.
I would take Cedar Point over any of the Disney Parks or Universal any day. Especially for what they charge to get in!
Cedar Point is a great value!

By far the best park. A great value to get in and an amazing 17 roller coasters ... cant wait to go there this summer =))

it has to be the best park i have ever been to
maybe it doesnt have the worlds greatest coasters,
it has an upwards of 10 coasters that have either been a huge jump in technology or set higher standards for rollercoasters

yes it is the best...but if you don't like a lot of big and scary rides...don't go there
