Superstition would dictate that you get rid of that mirror and get a new one right away. Logic would dictate that you wouldn't keep a broken mirror, so toss it and get a new one, luvvie!

It can be bad luck to break a mirror because you might cut yourself picking up the pieces to throw away. It is also bad luck to walk under a ladder because a can of paint or a tool such as a hammer could fall on you. Some superstitious beliefs have a foundation in folk wisdom or common sense, but other bad luck superstitions are based on traditions that may have little relevance in today's world. In regard to superstitious beliefs about breaking mirrors, it is possible that the mirror was used as a portal in such practices such as scrying, and breaking the mirror could have an effect on the realm being gazed into. Also, looking at broken mirror parts gives a fractured impression of your image, which is not good, especially if you cut yourself while breaking the mirror and blood is on the mirror. Some people get cheap plastic mirrors or even use metal surfaces as mirrors to avoid breaking mirrors.

Seven years bad luck, according to the superstition. I think that applies only to the glass, not the frame. Usually, the person has to break the mirror themself for it to bring bad luck. One falling off the wall should not count, tho some might see in that some sort of omen. Sorry, but I do not know the meaning of such an omen. None really, any more than a broken mirror can have any effect of the negative course of events that we call "bad luck". There is really no connection between the two. We make our own luck, for good or bad. Mirrors and horseshoes and ladders and black cats and four-leafed clovers can not, and do not, control of destinies. My poor mother tho was one of the most superstitious people who ever lived.

Don't worry. Ain't no such thing as bad luck. You can fix the mirror fame with a little wood glue or elmer's cement and it will good as new. So far, in all of human history, no one has ever been harmed by a broken mirror, unless they happened to pick up the pieces and cut themselves.

Luck is a non-entity. The US has 300+ million people. A one-in-a-million chance happens 300 times/day on the average. Here's a hint to make your life easier: Nature doesn't care; Nature doesn't even look.
