Not the kind you are thinking about. King Arthur, if he was real, lived around 600AD in England. The Caribbean wasn't even discovered by Europeans until the 1400's. I'm sure there were people on boats who stole other people's things off of their boats in 600AD, but they didn't dress like Jack Sparrow.

King Arthur has never been proven to have lived; he is a mythological figure said to have been born in the 5th Century.

The earliest documented incidence of piracy are the exploits of the Sea Peoples who threatened the Aegean in the 13th century BC.

Therefore, if King Arthur truly lived, there exists documentation of pirates during his lifetime.

King Arthur is a legendary king. No one can prove who he trully was and if he trully did live. Pirates have been around for hundreds of years, although they were not near England during this time. Vikings may have been, but England was more concered with the tribal grounds of Ireland and barbarians from the east.

There have been pirates as long as there has been merchant shipping, for thousands of years.
