Okay, so when I first got my computer, I got Spy Sweeper along with it. My subsription ended 05/05/06 and I didn't do anything about it. A week ago, I found out my computer was infected with spyware. I went out and bought Sy Sweeper again. I've tried removing the spyware, but it's still there. I've swept my computer countless times, yet everytime I sweep it, I've noticed the same infection come up. It's called Trojan Horse: Trojan-backdoor-progdrav. I dunno what that is, but I can't get rid of it. Help? Thankyou all so much.

Trojan Horse, is a virus and not spyware. Use your antivirus program if you have one installed. If you don't here is a free excellent antivirus program.

Here is an excellent from antivirus program from AOL, Active Virus Shield powred by Kaspersky Lab of Russia. Rated # 1 in the world for virus detection. You will get auto updates every hour on the hour, plus an excellent background scanner that really works great. AOL, will only ask you for your email so they can send you a free key good for one year. After one year just request a new key.

Trojans are technically a kind of virus. Spy Sweep[er can't really do anything about it.
I'd recommend either McAfee (best) or AVG

Download either AVG or Avast, install it, check for updates and run a scan. Both are free and excellent antivirus products.

AVG AntiVirus

Avast Home Antivirus

( Note: Only use one anti-virus product. Running more than one can cause conflicts thus rendering each ineffective.

most virus are spread through IE. IE is not a safe browser. you should use a more secure browser to protect your PC from virus.

i recommand you to use firefox with Google toolbar. firefox can block any any popup and disable any virus and adware, spyware on webpage, so, firefox is much safer than IE browser. as you know, most of virus spread throught internet and webpage.

besides, firefox is much smaller than IE, so it run faster than IE.

download firefox for free, Just have a try:
