I think a time or two --mostly if I was in charge of something --such as a skit at church for example . I was told I should be meaner --that I was being too nice as the director.
In my teaching, I have always tried to be good to my students and in life ==to my son and daughter. I never got the impression anyone thought of that as weakness.
You can be a good person and still have the strength of your convictions and stand up for what you believe.
