Unless the knives are designed differently or weighted differently where by thy could spin around a finger like the old westerns the only other way is to palm spin them, kinda like a basketball on your palm.

It is impossible to spin an ordinary knife in your palm like V did. The first person to spin a knife in this manner in a movie was Lou Diamond Phillips in "Young Guns" . At one time there was a dagger on the market that had an attachment on the handle that you could slip your 2 middle fingers in and spin it like it is done in the movies. I'm sorry to say but I didn't ever get one for my collection. So let me reinterate, without a special attachment you cannot spin a knife in your palm.

This is a science-fiction movie! There is no one in this world that can spin a knife that fast (because it was in slow motion). It wasn't done by the actual person. It was computerized by the makers. THe directors are from the Matrix. That is why it has good action.
Whoops. Sorry. Yes, you can spin a knife around your finger by practicing consistently. My point in the previous paragraph was that it wasn't done in reality. It was all computerized.
