DO you know the story behind it? Why it was banned?
Mine is Farenheit 451. Let's ban a book about censorship. :)

The Irony about Twian is he was a HUGE abolutionist. He travelled with Fredrick Douglas, talking about rights for Black people and wrote the book to show that people can be good regardless of their race. Jim is the only decent person in the whole book. :)

'To Kill A Mockingbird'
'The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn'
anything by Stephen King or John Steinbeck
Books are banned because someone finds something offensive or subversive or opposed to their own particular beliefs or - oh, you get the idea.
Stephen King once said something along the lines of "Once you know a book has been banned, run - do not walk - to the nearest bookstore or library, and get that book. Because there are things in there that some people do not want you to read, to know, or to think about."

I haven't read many banned books but To Kill A Mockingbird, The Catcher in The Rye and A Brave New World were very good books and I know they're on the banned list. And yes I find that it is really stupid to ban books. I think that by banning a book, you are banning ideas and the right to express those ideas.

I agree..F-451 and 1984 styled books. They're not banned here, but I know they have been in other places. Obvious reasons. lol. To be honest, looking how things are going lately..it's a little scary to read them. and Animal Farm was funny..with a definate uneasiness about it..but still a good satire.

To Kill a Mockingbird is banned in some places, because of the racism in it. I love that book.
Fahrenheit 451 was alright with me.

I'd have to say Huckleberry Finn by Mark Twain, banned because of racial concerns, and the Harry Potter books by J.K. Rowling, banned because of the witchcraft issue.

Of Mice and Man was banned but isn't anymore. That was because of its promoting euthanasia (and using profanity)
P.S. Ya'll the Harry Potter books are ban because they supposedly Satanic views which I think is funny because if you really read it, they are about Post Cold War world events...

“Bridge to Terabithia” by Katherine Paterson, winner of a Newbery Award, has been removed from classrooms and libraries due to “profanity, disrespect of adults, and an elaborate fantasy world that might lead to confusion.” Absolutely nuts since it is one of the greatest books out there.
