the only thing i miss about those years were not having to pay bills and being able to stay out til 7 am, take a shower, then go to school drunk, then do it all over again the next night.

I have always attended a private school and am in no way rich. My parents have a lot of trouble my tuition, and even though I do not wear expensive clothes (most of the time I just go with faded jeans and a colourful but old T-shirt), do not have an expensive cellphone (I'm forced to sharing with my mum), have an old Ford and live in a tiny, two-bedroom apartment, people assume that I'm rich and snobby when they find out what school I go to. And the only reason I attend that school is to preserve my Armenian identity (my school only accepts students of Armenian origin), or else I am pretty sure I would have been thrown in a public school. I find it despicable how stereotypes have found ways to permanently stay in people's minds. I've had horrible remarks about myself and my school, and whenever we pass by the public elementary school next to our school, the kids there start shouting at us that we're rich ****-ups and that we should go back to asking Daddy for money to buy Ed Hardy shirts. I just ignore it most of the time. It's immature, really, to act this way. When I was younger I would comfort myself and say that they're simply jealous of our education, but that doesn't always apply because some private schools have terrible education systems and some public ones are brilliant, but in my corner of the world you usually go to a private school if you want a decent education and a chance to get into the top universities here.

Amen, brother strange1970.
Sadly, most of the kids on this site don't think you know what you're talking about. Nor will they remember it until after they've graduated and wished they had taken your advice.

Umm, how is this a question? Maybe there should be a section of Yahoo!Answers that's just random comments and general advice...
