the people who live in it now move out on the first.and i have not seen the inside yet.

the people haven't even moved yet and i did not sign anything.she just said she would hold it with the deposit.but when i called her 2 days later she said that she had my money...it's been 2 weeks now.the people are supposed to be gone on the first.but i think i want the money back..just cause i don't want to move now.

It depends on what the terms of the deposit are. Did you sign any deposit agreement. What are the outs if any are listed. What does the deposit give you. We need more information before anyone can give a really good answer.PP

Probably not. The landlord has by passed by other potential renters and probably run a credit check on you, thus incurring costs holding a unit which you will not want. The landlord is entitled to keep the deposit to cover any such costs.

It depends on how long they are holding it. Some will usually give you 24-48 hours to make a decision. This should be outlined from the beginning, but it doesn't hurt to ask!

its never a good idea to give a deposit without signing a form stating you'll recieve part of it back should the deal fall through, I would talk to her and tell her you need to move and need your money back.

you can change your mind but you wont get your money back
