A.

The New Deal had three components: direct relief, economic recovery, and financial reform. These goals were also called the "Three Rs."

B - it failed miserably at ending the great depression. Every program FDR came up with was agressively creating jobs, giving economic relief to farmers and american business in general - but none of it was working. More people were going to work, but we already to deep into the depression to pull us out. It took preparing for war and a significant amount of jobs opening up because of people going to war. And then the increased boost to agriculture because of the war to pull us out.

In a way programs for the jobless provided some relief from the depression. But I would argue that most of them never really escaped from worrying about it - unless they had access to alcohol. (Listen to the song See You in C.U.B .A.)

I think in FDR himself they found a sense of ease, I guess, because everyone loved him. After his thrid term he was playing it off like he wasn't going to run again, but he was playing it so the country would come out and ask him to run again. It was a brilliant move on his part - it kind of made him look like Washington. Although he didn't want to serve, he would answer his countries calls. They were more at ease when FDR was running than they were when other people (especially Hoover) were running it, although the programs are not that different.

I guarantee you the answer is B.

Though the New Deal was somewhat helpful, FDR believed in pouring government money into the economy to stimulate it. That, however, resulted in more debt.

It was actually production demands of World War II that ended the Great Depression.

The rest are all true.

ending the Great Depression

movies were inexpensive in those days; people would sit and listen to the radio; many comedic teams were coming out in the 1930's so people could escape their troubles by laughter; go to a ballpark to see their heroes playing baseball etc.

Why don't you kids just cut and paste your whole homework assignment to one question so at least you won't bombard this board with single questions. I know you don't want to work for your grade, but this is getting ugly.
