1 NaHCO3 + 1 HC2H3O2 → 1 CO2 + 1 H2O + 1 NaC2H3O2
Sodium: 1 → 1
Hydrogen: 5 → 5
Carbon: 3 → 3
Oxygen: 5 → 5
(Law of Conservation of Mass).
In other words you can have atoms disappearing or just coming out of no where.

Also, you don't need the ones in front of all the substances, I'm just showing you that it is already balanced.

baking soda (sodium bicarbonate) + vinegar (acetic acid) → carbon dioxide + water + sodium acetate

Baking soda has the chemical name sodium bicarbonate (or sodium hydrogen carbonate) and frormula NaHCO3. Vinegar is essentially a dilute (about 5%) solution of acetic acid HC2H3O2 (a common weak organic acid that can form from the oxidation of food sugars).

The acid (H+) from the acetic acid reacts with the bicarbonate ion (HCO3-) in the baking soda resulting in the formation of water and carbon dioxide. The relevant part of the reaction is:

H+ + HCO3- ----> H2O + CO2

the complete reactions (with spectator ions) is:

NaHCO3 + HCH3CO2 ----> NaCH3CO2 + H2O + CO2

Vinegar contains acetic acid which reacts with the baking soda :

NaHCO3 + H3CCOOH--------> H3CCOONa +CO2 + H2O

Sodium acetate is formed and CO2 released.

This is one type of reaction in chemisty called a 'neutralisation reaction'.
NaHCO3 + H3COOH --> H3COONa +CO2 + H2O
In this an acid (vinegar) mixed with a base (baking powder) releases soluble salt and water (in this case with CO2).
The other types of reactions are:
Synthesis reaction
Displacement reaction
Double displacement reaction and
Neutralisation reaction

baking soda is actually sodium bicarbonate.when u add vini gar (aceticacid)carbonicacid is formed which being unstable decomposesintocarbondioxide &water.the equation is
NaHCO3+CH3COOH=CH3COONa+H2O+CO2.
this is actually an acidbase reactionwith NaHCO3 as the
base&CH3COOH asthe acid.
