The formula for the area of any circle (where the radius = r), is A = pi(r^2). You know the area = pi/16, so pi/16 = pi(r^2). Solve for r-> (pi/16)/pi = r^2, 1/16 = r^2, r = 1/4. The diameter is 2*r for all circles, and thus d = 1/4*2. Your answer is 1/2.

Area = pi * radius squared
Your area is 1/16 * pi.
The square root of 1/16 is 1/4, which is your radius.
The diameter is twice that or 1/2.

area of cirlce = pi * (square of radius)

therefore,

pi * r * r = pi * (1/4) * (1/4)

therefore

r = 1/4.

diameter = twice the radius

d = 2*(1/4)

d = 1/2.
