The problem seems to continue in not only in the NFL but also in the MLB and in other sport groups.

If you could become president of one of the sporting leagues, what ideas/actions would you make to improve the image of professional athletics?

One possibility would be to institute a no tolerance to violence on and off field/court. Mandatory suspension without pay and a fine would hurt them and may force them to monitor their conduct more closely.

The NFL is taking steps through the new commish and it is like a teacher the first month or so of school; hand out detentions if a student looks like he's thinking of doing something stupid, because later there will be a respect factor and the rules may not have to be so severe.

It has to be seen as a privilege to play in the league and have the opportunity to earn mad money. That is why there should be a zero-tolerance policy....caused a problem to the league one time, the next time will be on your time.

that is a difficult question, well first the player needs to understand that it is a privaledge to get payed to play a pro game no matter how good you are. sometimes you take a problematic player like T.O for example and he can help in the right situation. if you are a team like the bengals you dont add anouther problem player to you already crimanal roster. this thug mentality which is glorified by popular celebrities doesnt help even thogh its 90% fake and really just breaks down to a sales gimmick. these players come up young and pampered but think this stuff is real and gotta live it out because they dont know any better. you can get an idea of a persons comprehension of right and wrong by looking up high school and Jr high refferal records, and sometines correct it, but the bottom line is it comes down to the morals and understanding of right and wrong which begins as a youth. someoone has to teach them but they have to respect that person that is trying to correct their behavior. And if nobody can get through to that type of player its just best to take the privaledge away even if it hurts your team on paper. if you keep him or tolerate that kind of behavior he actually more times than not hurts your teams goal

i do no longer think of maximum do, yet needless to say lots do. the situation as I see this is threefold. a million. maximum obtrusive, is that's cheating, it takes the sport from being guy vs. guy, seeing who's relatively the terrific and who has labored the toughest to being guy vs. technological information, and who has the "extra effectual" wellbeing care expert. It defeats the purpose of activities that's to motivate human beings to attain bigger ranges of success. 2. The media splashes it everywhere while an athlete is chanced on employing drugs. It facilitates gamers to apply drugs with the intention to income interest, yet in addition creates the phantasm that all and sundry athletes are on drugs. this may be a extreme situation by using fact it makes arising athletes experience that the only way they are going to be waiting to compete at a expert point is to apply drugs themselves. no longer by using fact they do no longer think of their organic skill is robust sufficient, yet by using fact in the event that they do no longer they gained't be competing in a truthful way. 3. those athletes are function fashions. Even youngsters who in step with probability are not interested in competing professionally may be stimulated to purpose drugs to get extra beneficial or look extra effectual considering that they see their customary expert athlete employing drugs without obvious sick impacts. situation is they have not got a collection of scientific experts to be sure those drugs are being administered "appropriate" and ought to bring about much extra extreme section impacts than what a expert may be experiencing. this is a extreme situation, yet different than athletes taking duty themselves, and making a ethical selection rather of a egocentric one, i do no longer see how that's thoroughly eradicated.
