At my school there are tons of computers everywhere. Of course most probably don't have ADMINISTRATOR access.

When you use a public computer, you always want to type in your passwords and codes. For email you never want the pc to remember your password. So make sure that it is not checked off, "remember my password". Always close out your email account.

If you are going to purchase anything with your credit card on a public computer, make sure that you see the "VeriSign", where you give your credit card data. This sign means that the webpage is secure plus server.

Don't allow cookies, as they will remember your data only. Not your credit card #.

The key for public of your own private pc is to practice safe surfing.
