i am due THIS saturday [june 2nd]. about every 15 minutes or so, i get this extreme knife like pain on my right side of the vaginal area and i at times yell out an"ouch". he [the baby] is moving around like crazy. this has happened to me about 3 weeks ago. but now, the pains are getting extremely difficult to deal with. does this mean labor will come soon...?

This happened to me with all my pregnancies, close to when I went into labor. The baby's head starts really bearing down on the pelvic floor and that causes the sharp stabbing pains.
I would also yell out when it happened and my husband would jump out of his skin! LOL

I have been told that when the baby settles down into the pelvis, you will experience sharp pains in the vaginal area.... which means that it does sound like you are very very close!
you should talk to your doctor about this though, just to rule out anything...

Yes! It does mean that! I know this and I have never been pregnant......
