just use the energy, don't let the energy use you.

Hi, I'm Lexi, I'm 12 also. I have been on Answers for a while and your are the 12 year old I've ever seen. Actually if you don't get the script you just go there and cold read it. I am also into acting and get stage fright. DON'T picture them in only underwear, I promise it won't work and you won't stay focused. Just be so nervous that you start laughing. Hey maybe it will work and your red face will turn back to normal. GOOD LUCK!

I would have imagined they would have given you something by now if you needed to memorize it. I also find if I take a DEEP BREATH & count down from ten slowly, it really helps relax your whole body, Do it a couple times before hand just to see how relaxed you really are. That might be a big help w/your relaxation & you won't feel as nervous. I've given this advice to quite a few folks & it worked fine for them. Try it, it sure can't hurt. I wish you the best! You'll be ok..Remember, 99.9% of what we worry about never happens!! We always get ourselves worked up over nothing & the "nothing" never happens....:)

I would say they are going to do a cold read. You will read part of the script given to your right before you go on. I suggest always having contradicting monologs on hand at all times. But just be familier with the play you are auditioning for and you should do fine, just relax, and chill, and if they ask you weird questions they are just tring to throw you off. If they look dead serious and intimidating they are doing it to put pressure on you and that is it they don't think you suck they just want to scare you, they are just listening and watching i promise. Oh be really nice to the stage manager, you'll do fine, good luck.

If they did not ask you to prepare a monologue, you will be doing a cold read from the script. Its hard to tell really, every director is different.

I would go in their with confidence. Don't talk to the other actors about acting. Just about anything else. Don't be afraid to ask questions. And if you have issues with stage fright, you may not want to try out.

The imagining them in their underwear... doesn't work too well.
Alot of people just have the ability to speak in front of people and not get scared, you may find out you have this skill.
Basically just don't think about it
Act confident, you might convince yourself you really are.
When you start talking you should start to relax.
It depends on the directors and the show, but you generally get a paper to read off of.

You'll find out when you get there, do the best you can. And don't be afraid. Nothing is going to happen to you if you don't do well. Next, you didn't say what you are auditioning for. Is it an agency? If it is be careful. If they want money they are a scam. Please show this to your parents. I don't want to see them lose money or you get your hopes up only to be disappointed.

You will find out when you get to the audition. If they wanted something prepared, they would have asked you to prepare something.
