When I use a tampon, it never opens completely and I end up leaking. So much, that it is no longer worth it!?

I am completely fed up with tampons but am going to camp this summer and would really like to be able to use them....any reasons for why this is happening? Suggestions?

It really sounds like you are not inserting it correctly. It should not leak at all.

Okay, trying not to be gross here or ask stupid questions but are you removing both pieces of the applicator? Okay, had to ask! If you are then maybe you should try buying a different brand of tampon. They make some tampons that are marketed toward athletes, because they are supposed to open, bend, and stay where they are needed. Try those, also always use the absorbency level that is right for your flow. I hope everything works out, have fun at camp!

It might be the brand of tampon you are using. I prefer the tampax pearl tampons... like already said you might also need higher absorbancy. When you're not in the water at camp its a good idea to wear a pad with the tampon. I always do- just in case it leaks.

You might want to get a higher absorbancy and also wear pads in addition to the tampons. Try it.

Try a different brand - they do not all fit the same - and make sure you are beyond the "opening" so it is completely inserted.

try to get a bigger size tampon. those will work better, also u can wear a pantyliner if it leaks.

Try this site! maybe you dont have it placed right. it happens! or maybe you need a bigger tampon or higher exorbitancy. also try a panty liner with tampon.

you can try a different brand, style, or size, and i always wear a panty liner.
