Move the 4x to the other side of the equation so you have
2y=-4x+12 then divide everything by 2 to isolate the y:
y=-2x+6 which means that -2/1= slope and (0,6) is the y intercept..which is where the line crosses the y axis...

The slope-intercept form of a line is written as y = mx + b where m is the slope and b is the y-intercept. Rewrite the equation..... 2y = 12 - 4x.......Divide the equation by 2......y = 6 - 2x
or y = -2x + 6.
The y-intercept is (0,6).

6

4x+2y=12
-4x -4x
2y=12-4x
- - -
2 2 2
y=6-4x

you solve by getting y on its own and the constant is the y intercept and x is the slope

4x+2y=12

The y intercept occurs at x = 0

4*0 + 2y = 12
2y = 12
y = 6 at x = 0
