I had a c-section almost 4 years ago, and my husband and I are ttc again, I want a vbac this time. I didn't want the c-section in the first place, but my son's life depended on it.

I know the pain after my c- section was horrible!!
I couldn't even feed my baby on my own at night because I couldn't move without horrible pain, and all I could take was Tylenol because I was breastfeeding.
I was alone (my hubby worked nights), and it made us have to switch to bottlefeeding. :(

I had two of both and in the end the c section was the worst pain ive ever had. Its a sergery you have to recover from and you dont realize how much you use that part of your body. I am still recovering from mine even this long after my son was born. I would do my best to have a v back. I couldnt as I was too weak so I had no choice.

If you choose to go vaginally - I STRONGLY RECOMMEND THAT YOU USE LAMAZE!!!! I had my first daughter vaginally (9 lbs. 13 ozs) and the lamaze was a great deal of help. While I was giving birth, the gal in the next room had not had any kind of preperation and she was screaming like she was going to die in the next 15 seconds. Make sure that you have a coach that will be with you when you give birth. The coach is very, very important!!!
My other daughter and her brother I had C-sections with. The bad thing about the second C-section is that I had not passed all of the blood while in the hospital and for about a month would pass blood clots that were the size of my fist, and instantly feel almost faint (losing that much blood that fast).
Don't mean to scare you, but this was my experience. Eventually I got over it and did fine.
Talk to your doctor and get his/her oponion as to what is best.

I had 2 c- sections(they gave me dimirol to take home and I breast fed also) my first I was in labor for 36 hours and bled for 12 weeks after. My second was planned( I wanted a vbac but that wasn't possible) and was better but I still hurt badly for a couple weeks. My sister had 3 vaginal, she hurt way less than me. And she will tell you the same thing.

I had a high-intervention vaginal birth and a c-section (8 years later.) Even though i broke my tailbone because they didn't turn the epidural off early enough for me to get into a gravity friendly position to push and i ended up with a 3 day epidural headache, i would do it again rather than endure the recovery from a c-section again.
I had Percoset, then ibuprofen, after my c-section and breastfeed exclusively. They screwed you with just Tylenol!-(

Hey,
My sister in-law has had both...
She said she would have a natural birth any day!
She had a natural first and then 2 c-sections.
It only took her 6days to be fully healed from the natural and from the c-section she was in bed for about the first 4days and couldn't move with the second one...
She still can't stretch certain ways because it hurts her tummy and her daughter is 3months old.
I'd opt for a natural anytime.I had 8 stitches with my son from my natural birth but 8 is better than however many you get with a c-sec.
Good Luck!

Although obviously a vaginal birth is much more painful than the c-section itself, recovering from a c-section can be very painful and debilitating. You will only experience discomfort for a few days after a vaginal delivery.

Hands down, a c-section is worlds more painful. Even my worst labor didn't come close to the pain from my section.
Good luck on your vbac - I had one almost a year ago.

I have had both, and the recovery from the c-section was longer and more painful for me. I had an emergency c-section, I didn't have a choice there. The vaginal deliveries were not as bad as I thought they would be. For me, anyway! Good luck!

I had 3 vaginally, all natural. To me the c-section was worse!! I had to go through it, for the life of my 4th baby. I had an emergency c-section so up and down cut, and I think that is why it was so bad. I am very happy for you, that you are trying a v-bac!!
Good Luck
