Reparations make sense while there are still victims of some past wrong living to recieve them. Reparations on the part of descendents of victims do not make sense.

Every ethnic group in the world have been harmed sometime in the past.......
...that is why it is called In the "Past".... as in African American, maybe they need to punish their own people that sold them if they want something.. Lincoln gave them equivalent reparations....maybe they should give back the monies they got at the end of the Civil War...
...and who gets reparations for the lives of relatives lost who fought for them and their freedom?
people need to let this idea go as we are already going bankrupt as a country without such a thing!

NO NO NO We are the worlds police and sometimes people get hurt, We are not all knowing, we make mistakes but the good that we have done out weighs the mistakes, Such as saving Europe in WWII from Hitler, Freeing Kuwait from Iraq's invasion. Not to mention all the humanitarian efforts throughout the world.

I dont remember Irish human beings being slaves, plus they got here on their own unfastened will. the place is the evidence that maximum slaves have been taken care of nicely? Do you call lynching and whipping stable therapy? My element is whilst Jews won their reparations no person complained, no longer one complaint why is that? And why are they extra worth than the different man or woman who suffered on the palms of dictators/sl;aveowners?

Reparations is one of the craziest things I've ever heard of. Go to the New Black Panthers website, they say we should let all African Americans out of jail, exempt them from military duty and taxation, AND give them room and board.

No, it would just tie up courts deciding who gets paid and who doesn't.
No one on this earth is owed a living. People need to make their own success.

Anyways, insurance will pay for it...

No.
Its subjective and vague and those who were truly "wronged" would not be benefiting.
Are you posing this question to other nations???
