I think Norton Security is better because in the middle of the day it will scan on its own and it will show what I have if I have a virus or spyware. If I have either one it will pop up a sign in the right hand corner and i will know if there is either spyware or a virus trying to get on my computer. It will put the virus or spyware in quaretine(sp) and then It will let me delete it out of my computer and then I will rescan it to make sure it is out. I like Norton security because it works for me and It helps me find the spyware and viruses in the computer. I hope you find one that you like and will tell you when you have a spyware of even a virus. Good Luck. It cost me around 49.00 or a little more but it helps. I much of a computer person but Norton Security has helped. That is for about a Year but there are one that are longer but they cost more and they have more thing s on it. Norton Security is the Best.

if the alert is not from mcafee then don't mess with it, it could be a virus or a link to a virus.

most virus are spread through IE. IE is not a safe browser. you should use a more secure browser to protect your PC from virus.

i recommand you to use firefox with Google toolbar. firefox can block any any popup and disable any virus and adware, spyware on webpage, so, firefox is much safer than IE browser. as you know, most of virus spread throught internet and webpage.

besides, firefox is much smaller than IE, so it run faster than IE.

download firefox for free, Just have a try:

you want AVG.
do NOT USE INTERNET EXPLORER!!
that will give you a virus in 5 seconds flat.
run AVG free (http://free.grisoft.com/doc/28415/lng/us/tpl/v5)
and use mozilla... also, avoid things that mozilla warns you about... it generally knows what it's talking about!
