Media is the handmaiden of the corporate sector. Corporations like to advertise to poor people in other countries to get them to illegally enter the US and work for starvation wages and poor work conditions.
If the large numbers of desperately poor people who work extremely hard every day is shown alongside the media images of rich Americans, people will see the truth and not come here to get ripped off.

Its not the MEDIA its the PEOPLE that ignore the problem, I have a feeling that you dont walk around with posters strapped to you to get poverty into the publics mind do you?? And Media is a business, they do what makes them money, like every other good business.
