America's a big place. I just moved to a southwestern, mostly rural, area. These people have completely different attitudes towards guns let alone gun control, than the midwestern urban area I came from.
Polls have shown that most are for some type of gun control but a large minority say there should be none.

How does one get control of anything? Usually it's by force, threats, or coercion. I don't think I want the government forcing me to give up my right or should I say duty to defend myself or even to feed myself. These are basic to being human. You have the right to keep people from hurting you and you have the right to provide yourself with food. Where America has gone wrong with guns is in the uneducated use of them. I remember a time when many and not just a few parents would "educate" their children about guns. I learned at an early age that whatever you shoot with a gun doesn't come back. I learned this while hunting. I wasn't hunting because of hate. I was hunting because it was fun and my family enjoyed the taste of rabbit, quail, duck, deer, etc. For us the most important thing during hunting was to be safe. Parents don't teach their children these things now. I consider that to be VERY irresponsible. So now we have Hollywood and Rap music teaching kids that guns are for killing people and for when you hate someone. Personally, I feel that if we ever lose our right to bear arms it will be due to the irresponsibility of the parents who were born with these rights but don't understand the importance of being responsible in order to keep the freedoms garanteed to us by the constitution. Adults and children are no different. If you are irresponsible, your freedoms will be taken away. That is why convicted felons aren't allowed to posess firearms now. I hope the people running the government don't cave in to the idiotic idea that taking guns away from the responsible public will ever solve any problems with crime. It would only be the irresponsible ones that would disobey the law. So I don't understand why there is even an argument concerning this subject. If anything, the government should be requesting that the most responsible of us arm ourselves more than we already have.

I think the gun control laws are too strict. I think Americans have the right to lawfully and responsibly defend themselves. I would be a member of the NRA, although right now I don't use a gun. I have taken the gun safety courses, and am a very good shot.

Americans don´t think about gun control, nor about the 2A, they are told by either the NRA or the gun control people what to think.

The gun control laws that we have now are strict enough. Banning guns won't stop people from killing others. I'm sorry to say all you have to do is look at Texas today at what that mother did to her children to see that killings will still happen.

My definition:
1. A good fire safe.
2. Using Both hands.
3. Shooting what you are aiming at.
4. A good holster.
Anything else violates the Second Amendment.

Same thing I think about every other form of government control - bad idea.
Don't force me to associate with the homos but govt, leave them alone - if they want to get married, then as long as they don't go near me, they should be allowed to.
But by the same token leave me and my gun and my wallet alone.
