It's a 'no brainer' that the new Democratic President will have to bring the troops home and try and save the integrity of the US as soon as they take office... from election to inauguration is 2 months.... Will it take that long for the troops to pack up?

I thought that was why everyone voted democrat back in November. Did they not promise to bring our troops home?

Even though the left has squandered their 06 victory and pols are showing Giuliani and Thompson beating the left in 08.
If on a long shot a democrat wins you should re-format your question to (Which history has proved) how long will the Left president take to gut the military to fund a welfare state and then panic when a a catastophic attack happens and wonders where is the military.
Clinton cut the military 39% through the 90's,

You may be disapointed in the next Democratic president. Withdrawing from Iraq without further destabilizing the region and grossly compromising US interests is not going to be a quick or simple undertaking.
You might remember that the Democratic Congress was also going to bring a swift end to the war, and hasn't - even though it has has the constitutional power to do so.
