A mom brought her 8 year old daughter to a tanning salon because she thought she should be tan for her school pictures. Someone at that salon suggested her daughter use a certain kind of tanning lotion because Lindsey Lohan uses it. The girl absolutely had to have it because she wanted to look like Lindsey.
Lindsey recently was arrested for a DUI and coke was found in her car. Is this really someone to look up to? I used to love Lindsey because I thought she was actually talented. Now I see her for who she really is.
How can people still support Paris and Nicole and Lindsey when they are ruining their lives? Why do people still continue to party and trash themselves and think that it's ok?
Read "Smashed" by Koren Zailckas and tell me if you think drugs and alcohol are really all that great.
I just want to know why people continue to abuse their body when everything out there shows how horrible it really is for you and everyone around you.

I also added this in the adolescent section because I, too, want to know what they would say.

If you ask me all of these things have been very fashionable for years but lately it has crossed over into the pop music world and young hollywood and I think that is the most disturbing thing to alot of people. Yet you have to stop and think these icons have millions and millions of a fanbase and in those peoples eyes their icons can do no wrong. Also most of them want to be just like their idols so if their idols make bad choices then alot of their fans go and make the same bad choices cause their idols did it. Then even the ones who don't make the bad choices are still gonna stand by their idols right or wrong. Nowadays its like celebrities can do no wrong and even when they do actually do wrong their fans are gonna support them even when they are wrong. I call this extreme idol worship to the point where reality and common sense is distorted.

People still support Lindsey for the reasons you already said: she's pretty and talented. What she chooses to do with her body is her business.
Drugs are fun. Sure they can hurt one's body, but so can any number of other things.
As far as Paris and Nicole - I don't know why anybody supported them in the first place.

i think of that it is all undesirable, yet Paris and Nicole are large , putting aside a number of their smoking and acohol issues. Lindsey Lohan, definite she is a bad effect. Being decrease than the effect of alcohol, stoned and anorexic isn't so well known at the instant and it on no account truly replaced into, it truly is only that folk dont truly understand the thank you to shield themselves and can want a sprint steerage and that they are going to be stable as new.

I watched that "Sunset Tan" show on E! last night and I was absolutely repulsed by that poor excuse for a mother. So, not only is she teaching her elementary school aged daughter that she is not pretty enough, but also that a coke-snorting, drunk-driving, poor hygiene-having skank like Lindsay Lohan is someone to look up to?? I WEEP for this world.

Stupid seems to be in fashion, None of these so called stars have the brains to come in from hail storm and children seem to flock to them like lemming to a cliffs. We need to stop parents from letting there kid emulate stars with questionable morel judgment and not let children do what they want. Parents need to be parent not best friends. I feel this generation is been given to many passes we have kids with more holes on there body and tattoo's all over when do parents wake up but, I forget we're letting babies have babies so they don't understand how to be parent. We need to bring back Conservative values and stop letting children's be the bosses. It make no sense for the inmates to run the asylum no sense

I fully agree with you and feel the smae disgust as you do. I hate how these "role models" act and wish that they be treated the way normal people do. Paris should go to jail, end of discussion. Lohan, I think is going off the deep end the same way Spears did. I think reality is finally catching up to them and they realize they aren't any different than us.

This is so funny, because after I read your question title I immediately planned to write "blame Lindsay Lohan". Then I saw your notes and realized you've already cottoned on!! Well done you. That girl started off as a wholesome teen role model and now she is a menace.

Yeah i agree. i used to LOVE Lindsey Lohan and Paris and Nicole. and now there anarexic junkies. there just gay. lol. i dont know why famous people changed like this but probably because they know how to get away with all that stuff and know how and where to get drugs. and some times its just for publicity or attention. but i would never go anerexic just to look like a movie star.

i hope england look up to sarah harding whos sporting ultimo wear for women, men like women with a bit of meat on them unlike paris who you could break in half by throwing a pen at her. media promotes them too much and not the curvier sexier women which really annoys me. teenagers purely copy stars because media portrays them as idols when most of the ones who are being idolised are just the opposite of what a good example should be.

I agree about Lindsey. I liked her originally. Now she's a stupid, useless, idiot. It is a phase America is going into. Apparently, people want to be like these people.
