One hundred thousand dead. Numerous bomb blasts. 18 years of horror. Kashmir deserves freedom now, once and for all. The end of the Kashmir dispute would have major economical and international benefits for India and Pakistan. People are dieing because of this war every single day. We have to do something now.

The end of this war would have huge economical benefits for India. India and Pakistan spend 40% of their GNP (overall income) on the war. This money could get India and Pakistan clean water, electricity, health care, education, roads, better food, etc. All the money they spend on the war could be put to better use and end poverty in India and Pakistan.

The end of this war would also give India and Pakistan international benefits. India could become one of the five permanent members of the UN Security Council if they resolved the Kashmir dispute according to the UN. members of the UN Security Council, and numerous lives could be saved not only in Kashmir, but also in India and Pakistan, the lives of soldiers and common citizens who are going through poverty.

Thousands of people have died in the past 18 years. I was born in the middle of firing. I was only a few months when I had my 1st crackdown. Crackdowns, grenade blasts, firing, etc. All of these are common everyday things in Kashmir. In fact, there’s been a car bomb right in front of my house. The life of innocent people in Kashmir is horrible. In the past 18 yrs there lives had been turned upside down.

India and Pakistan have numerous benefits if this war ended. America, India, Pakistan, Mexico, Brazil, CZ republic, Belgium, Lesotho, Botswana, Gambia, Ghana, Kenya, Nigeria, Malawi, Swaziland, Uganda, Antigua, Barbuda, Bahamas, Dominica, Grenada, Jamaica, Trinidad, etc. If they can get there freedom, so can we. One day or the other Kashmir will be free. It might as well be today.

The best solution is for the US to invade Pakistan and wipe out the militants once and for all so the problem goes away. Pervez Musharaff is no friend of ours.

There are many reasons, I will try to explain from India's perspective

Strategic- Most Indian analyst believe that Kashmir with its geographical location has strategic importance, an independent Kashmir will enable Pakistan and China to link up during war. Kashmir also provides a natural barrier to China's military advances

Internal politics- India been a land of different religions and languages,It is believed that seperation of Kashmir will cause a series of similar demand by other states and eventual disintegration of India

Wellbeing of Kashmiri- Most Indians sincerely believe that Kashmiris are better off with India, historically among our neighbours it is the only country that is continously democratic and enjoying good economic growth. Violence will continue in Kashmir even when it is independent

The Kashmir conflict refers to the territorial dispute between China, India, and Pakistan over the northwestern region of the Indian subcontinent. India, which claims the entire erstwhile Dogra Kingdom of Jammu and Kashmir, has control of approximately half the region including most of Jammu, Ladakh, and Siachen Glacier. India's claim is contested by Pakistan which controls a third of Kashmir. The Kashmiri region under Chinese control is known as Aksai Chin. In addition, China also controls the Trans-Karakoram Tract, also known as Shaksam Valley, which was ceded to it by Pakistan in 1963.

But its NOT just India and Pakistan - China plays a crucial role. In fact Pakistan went ahead recently and offered a peace deal to India, pull out and we will too.

Save money? It won't be spent on helping the homeless, it would get spent on bombs. That India is not part of the UN security council is unfair in itself - its one of the four major populations on the planet.

Maybe the area should just be nationalized. If everyone can't handle that someone else has it, maybe it should just belong to itself.

Yes, ending a war is a good thing - but a war can end with either side the victor, or in compromise.

Pakistan is wrong. They have no sense. They have jihadists who kill indians because they are a different religion. They also want India's land. India was nice enough to share half of Kashmir (disputed land) with them but they want the whole thing. That is what the war is over. India is way better than Pakistan.

Jai Hind.
Hindustan Zhindabad.
Pakistan Murdabad.

Yeah, if there is peace in Kashmir, it would be a great vacation destination. I heard it has a lot of natural beauty, and the fruits grown there are huge and delicious.

all you do is this, plant atomic bombs all over kashmir, so if anyone occupies it ever, you just get someone to remotely blow the whole place up and then no one can have it, simple, you can't have it, they can't have it. problems solved, now go and live in peace
