My internet connection otherwise works completely without issue. I can have text chats on Skype, just not voice calls. I use a Linksys wireless router with an ADSL connection.

This is computer to computer calls (I'm not actually calling landlines).

if the calls are being dropped, then something is causing a disruption in the data stream.

Skype uses UDP which is connectionless, but if enough packets are not making it, then the call may terminate (ie..no packets are received for > 30 seconds).

If you're chatting from your wireless PC, then I'd suspect the wireless connection and or the linksys first before accusing Skypes implementation of Voip from being suspect as I use Skype often to talk to people overseas and never drop calls..

Are you calling landlines? You have to use SkypeOut for that. It's very cheap but you do have to pay for it. Only computer to computer calls are free.

Hope that helps!

It's personal.

They just don't like you.

Clearly you need an internet phone service that appreciates you for the wonderful personality and brains you possess and takes time to "cuddle" with you after each completed call.

Yep, that's the answer. :)
