If you have 10% you change it to a Decimal by moving the decimal point two places to the left. 10% becomes .10
100% becomes 1.00 see how the decimal is inserted.
Now say you want to know what percent 10 is of 100. You divide 10 by 100.
10 divided by 100 is .10
To change to a percent you move the decimal two places to the right (Opposite of the above) and add the % sign. So .10 becomes 10%
If you try what percent of 100 is 100 you divide and your answer is 1 so, you move the decimal point two places to the right and 1.00 becomes 100%

a really easy way is to make a proportion. so u do percent/100 = IS/OF. for example,

50 is what percent of 96?

so u do 50/100 = x/96 so then u do 96 times 50 divided by 100. and that equals 48%

i hope that makes sense!!

You should do a cross multiplication ex. 2/3 is x/100 you would simply multiply 2x100 and then divide by 3.
