my sister is thinking about venturing into the insurance business and she doesnt have a degree does she need one

No, you do not need a college degree to get into the insurance business. She would need to have a company sponsor her, take the appropriate classes, get registered with her state, pass the proper tests, and get a producer's license.

Nope, but she does need to understand what is involved not only with owning her own company, but with the insurance market.
I do not have a degree and I own a construction company. Education can be obtained in many different ways. I have some college business classes and the rest is hands on. Insurance can be a difficult market. She really needs to be sure she understands what this will take.
My advise is to talk to other agents about how they started in the business.

No, a degree isn't required. My business partner doesn't have a degree. Bill Gates doesn't have a degree.
