I bought a betta splenden and i heard that the pH should be 6.8 - 7.4 but how would i know the pH of my tank water, like is there a special thing i need to test it? And is the water conditioner for that?

You need to buy a test kit and no thats not what the conditioner is for that is to remove chlorine and other chemicals that are placed in your water supply.

Anywhere where they sell fish you could buy a little bottle that has p.H. strips in them.Test them with vineger then water to make sure they work.They should come out to acidic or base.Then dip it in your aquarium water.On the back of the box or bottle you should see colors,then next to yhe colors you should see p.H. levels.Find the right levels.There are water treatments for high or low water treatments.There are also more water treatments for Ick and parasites.

Get a ph test kit, You also need to test ammonia nitrate and nitrites go to your fish store and ask

Yes, you can get get a kit at the fish store for doing that. I had to do that but many years ago

You need to buy a pH checker in your petstore and then there will be instructions that will tells you how to do it.
