Alternative comedy refers to thinks like Ben Elton, The Young Ones, French and Saunders, Lenny Henry, Etc. It all started in a club called the Comedy Store in London in the eighties. It involved more irony, swearing, observational humour, surrealism, social commentary and taboo subjects.
