I always play the radio and sing and dance while I clean. I act like it is me singing and this is my music video of me cleaning my house. Sounds corney but it makes cleaning so much more fun and before you know it in 15 minutes you have cleaned a lot more than without using your imagination. LOL! Have fun with it and don't worry about how long it is going to take or how much stuff you have to move, wash or dispose of. Do one thing at a time and take 15 minute breaks every half hour or so.

I remember the 'nesting' days well! How wonderful it was to come home with a new baby and the house be spotlessly clean. :-) Hydrogen peroxide works great at getting out blood stains. Just be sure you use COLD water, as warm or hot water will set the stain and you'll never get it out. Baking soda in the wash will soften clothes and towels, it boosts the cleaning power of laundry detergent, and it's cheap! White vinegar in the final rinse also helps to soften laundry, as it strips out all detergent. And it's cheap! If you want scent, you can add some FS to it. There are so many uses for baking soda and vinegar, I could never list them all, so I've posted links below. Hope this helps, and enjoy your precious little one! :-)

It's best to have a "routine" this helps keep the work to a minimum...This works for me. I'm a mom of 2 children under 5 and a big dog that sheds...
In the am....I run a load of laundry
while that's going I go through each room with a laundry basket and remove any item that doesn't belong and put it away....
In the bedroom I strip the beds so the matresses can air out..This keeps dust mites down...
I spray the bathroom down with diluted bleach/water
fill the tub w/ hot water add/ 1 c. bleach/shut door
spray countertops/appliances in kitchen-load dishwasher
dust all rooms....and then vacuum
*Check laundry....put in dryer
*Wipe counter tops/appliance
*Sweep/mop/vacuum
The basic key is to work from top-bottom
I spend about 15-20 min in each room...I also vacuum every day this keeps the dust down and I vacuum my furniture as well.. Once you are in a routine it's much easier to keep house.... Just find your own rhythm...I also clean at night...

I clean in sections. I'll start with the kitchen and put everything away & clean it. If I find something that doesn't belong in the kitchen, I put it into a laundry basket. Then I'll move to another room in the house. If something doesn't belong in that room, put it in the laundry basket. When all rooms are done, put away the stuff in the basket, which takes only like 2 minutes.
If you have company coming over and need to clean quickly, clean the biggest thing in each room. Making your bed will make your messy room look much cleaner.

When my daughter was younger, we would set the timer for 15 minutes and clean one room like crazy, then take 5, and repeat another 15 minutes in a different room til finished. It made it fun to see how fast we could go to beat the clock. Now she is grown and it doesn't work on my husband :(

This is the best way I know, I suppose it is fun this way , as you are trying to beat the clock. Set your alarm clock to go off in 15 min´s time, you see how much you can do in this short time. Trust me you will be surprised. All ways work in the one room, never take things back to their rightful places until you have finished what you are doing. You don´t have to finish the room on the same day. and when you do decide to stop , all ways reward yourself. 15 min´s here and there makes a big difference, when the clock sounds , you either stop for the day or do the same again, I tell you it´s really great when you get going. have fun

Most of the time I just listen to the radio. Other times I put Cd's in the stereo that has a five disk changer. I go to the mall and look up music for an hour because most stores in the mall have small machines you can listen to before you buy the Cd's.

Put some Grape Vine music on and go to work. Make sure you have all the cleaning supplies you need so you wount have to stop. Take one room at a time. Just think about all that dustmite poop your will be getting rid of as well as all the dustmites.

when you clean put on old music you grew up with and start cleaning. While cleaning dance around a bit to get your muscles going to clean even more. focus on cleaning not doing something else because you will be tempted to do whatever you are thinking about.

I try to change my routine when I have to clean...like start in the opposite side of the house than you cleaned the last time. Sometimes I find it helpful to have someone around to help or to talk to while I am cleaning, it seems to make it go by quicker.
