alright this is what im trying to do...im editting the file C:\Windows\explorer.exe
and i save it after im done working with the codes in it..and i end process by Windows Task Manager..and then i turn it back on...by clicking new task

for some reason my file doesnt get saved.... i've saved it to my desktop also and tried to replace it..but that didnt work either?
so is windows automaticalyl doing this and how can i stop it?

The method you tried perfectly works. I cannot say what to problem is. Follow these tips:

Chech if it is with readonly or system attribute, if so, remove these attributes. If still you cannot save it, then boot your system with a separate bood disk and then edit and save it. May be OS's immunity system prevening you from modifying this system critical file. When you will bood your system with some other boot disk, you will be able to edit and save it

what are you trying to do.... have a windows explore icon on your desktop/taskbar
