Please help!
I have just bought a Western Digital Hard Drive to store my photos on. I have copied my photos onto the drive and it is already saying it has run out of disk space!
It is 320GB and I have only put about 300 photos on there.
What am I doing wrong??

Thank you.

I think I did format it. Can I do it again to be sure? How can I do that?

ok when you by the drive and fdisk it and format you never get the full 320 you get around 315 gigs do to the fdisking anf formating that has to be done to set up the drive . whata you should do is get a dvdr combo drive that will burn dvd n cd and go that way cause a dvd rom disk will hold more and you will always have them

ok, sounds like your photos are a massive size.

in windows explore click on your new hard drive then press your right mouse button then click on properties you will get a graph showing you the space used and the free space,,

by the way did you format the drive before you used it?

have you made a partition? Try add smaller amounts especially for externals.
