If by reliable you mean will they rust badly and be a load of crap then the answer is yes. Rovers in the later years before closure were badly built old tec rubbish, I can't see any improvement on that now that it is owned by the chineese, can you?

If they employ the same workforce they will be as badly built as everything else that came out of Longbridge, although quality did improve once it was privately owned. The fault then seemed to be sloppy management procedures and wasted opportunities coupled with a reticence to do do a fair days work for a fair days pay, a legacy of previous operations. If they recruit willing and conscientious people there is no reason why their products should not be of high quality and reliable.

Sadly I think this one will turn into an anti Rover (British) page. Don’t listen to idiots driving round in foreign rubbish; I only hope they loose their jobs to foreign competitors!
One real good point though.... look at how many questions are posted on here about problems with MG/Rover (maybe 2 per week) in comparisons to other makes i.e. Ford, Citron, Peugeot, Seat/VW who are constantly riddled with problems on here, yet never get bad press!
I think it’s down to this pathetic self hate nation we live in!

I am very sorry, but you cannot put 'Longbridge' and 'reliable' in the same sentance...
