So I had the wrt54g router...but I am unable to connect it to the net. I used to do so with my previous ISP. But I wonder why with my new internet providers this is impossible. Probably they have some mac address protection or so???

Thanks alot!!!

Did you happen to forget to reconfigure the router to communicate with your new ISP? You must enter the routers configuration and select your ISP type, PPPOE for DSL and Dynamic IP usually for Cable. Also when selecting PPPOE you need to input the username and password to connect to the new ISP also.

Who is your provider? Try connecting your computer directly to the cable modem and see if that may be your problem. If not post back here with your provider info...

Try updating the firmware and setting the router back to default settings, it may help.
