Let me tell you where the word is derived from. P.O.S.H. is actually an acronym used when traveling years ago by steamship and latter by the very slow clipper ships, the airplanes of the thirties and forties. It meant Port (or left side) Out, Starboard (right side) Home. The P.O.S.H. side was in the shade, and the ladies, who didn't want to get sun burnt, and old looking skin would pay a higher price for the accommodations. Later P.O.S.H. became posh, and is a snobbish word for the rich people. Um, I don't necessarily hate the word, but I don't care for people who use their power and influence to get better things that normal people can't afford, I mean when they over do things. In example, wearing a mink stole in warm weather.

No. It goes with pish posh. And that's such a fun word.
The word I hate is the extremely dull and nondescript adjective, "nice."

No, I do rather like it. It's a potent word.
Would you prefer rich, snob, cultured, well bred, groomed, stuck up etc... it can be used as both an insult and a compliment either describing a person or one's surroundings.
