In most states, the moment the divorce is final, you're free to marry again.
In Rhode Island specifically, you're required to present a copy of your finalized divorce decree when applying for a marriage license. In other words, as soon as your divorce is final, you're free to marry again.

I would go through your state laws just to make sure, but as far as I'm sure - 30 seconds? :)
You shouldn't have to wait at all. All you need to be is divorced.
