In most states, the moment the divorce is final, you're free to marry again.

In Rhode Island specifically, you're required to present a copy of your finalized divorce decree when applying for a marriage license. In other words, as soon as your divorce is final, you're free to marry again.

Rhode Island General Laws 15-5-23 Remarriage – Final decree.
After final decree for divorce from the bond of marriage either party may marry again; but no decree for a divorce shall become final and operative until three (3) months after the trial and decision.

When you apply for a marriage license they willlet you know what the waiting period is. Chances are its not long.I think the longest is about 7-14 days

You shouldn't have to wait at all. All you need to be is divorced.
