Well you find a bank that you can open an account with. No bank should ask for more than you are bringing. If you have an account at a bank you won't be asked all these questions.
But I wouldn't advise opening at this bank....go to another where they will treat you better.
You might want to also talk to the human resources dept at your work and tell them whats going on..they might be able to help you out.

Keep in mind a Social Security Card and a Birth Certificate are extremely easy to forge. This makes banks/financial institutions unwilling to accept them as identification. You would be even more mad at them if someone else cashed your check and took your money.

If your State ID is a driver's license look into getting the state issued ID. If you have the state ID you may be able to get a drivers license, even if you do not plan on driving a day in your life. This would give you two forms of ID.

Look into opening an account either with them or some other financial institution. Ask them for an ATM or Debit Card and that can be used as a second form of ID. These items do not require credit to have. Most financial institutions want to have $100 for one night to open an account. Then after that there is no deposit requirement. Credit Unions usually have a different requirement.

Because even though you have an account there the teller has no idea who the hell you are. Besides maybe a handful of customers they don't recognize you. They see hundreds of people per day so give them a break. Also, the bank requires your number be written on the back of the check or typed into the screen that shows up when the teller goes to cash the check. Not to mention if the teller doesn't know you and you lose your check and someone cashes your check against your account. Guess who's problem that is? Not the banks. It would be yours.

every bank has different policies and obviously this one is alot stricter then mine. however, i know you said that you dont want to open a checking but a good idea would be to open a savings. if you put 5-10 a week in there and then cash the rest that would not only add up but youd be able to cash your check with more than likely no hassell. remember though to get all of the requirement for the savings. like ours youd have to open with at least 100 if your an adult and 50 if your a minor. you cant let the balance fall below a certain amt or your charged a fee but the good thing is alot of savings allow you to earn intrest if you keep the balance at like 100.00 or something like that. just ask around bc that would probrably be your best bet.

If you have a good friend with a bank account you can sign the check over to them and they in return can get the money out of their account. They do have to have enough money in the bank to cover the amount of your check. That is how my bank works.
