They can also be characters from the past who are now dead...

Drake drunken. I would imagine it would be lovely to see your son who died before he was born.
Such a child brings so much love from the moment it is conceived, not only to the couple who await that birth, but to all the friends and relatives. To be robbed of that child must be so hard to bear, but the love is never lost, love stays. Cassandra x

I would gather the six best environmental writers ever. This in a deep hope that we, as a collective, will finally listen to the clanging of the bell from the church tower and take action to save what we -- our very selves -- are destroying.

So my guests include:

*John Muir once said "Let us got out and do something to make the mountains glad." Founding the modern ecology movement, the Sierra Club and initiating environmental writing in North America was a pretty damn good start.

*Edith Holden wrote such warm prose about the woods of England that surrounded her. Of the season change she wrote, "...Pimpernal in bloosom among the rocks beside the river, and quantities of prime-rose and Wood-sorrel... May is upon the riverside hills."

*Aldo Leopold's breakthrough work 'A Sand County Almanac' gave us a chance to look at the keystones that hold together and define an ecosystem. He did so by just leading us on the path to appreciating the beauty of a place in one year.

*Rachel Carson is such an obvious choice it's hard to limit just what to say of her. 'Silent Spring' opened the eyes of the world and MADE us care with its lyrical prose of concern. Should would have been 100 the other day.

*Teddy Roosevelt realized that there are "last great places" and that we need to act to save those. In one year he wrote about and created more national parks then any two presidents combined. Bully for him!

*Henry David Thoreau went to Walden Pond to "live deliberately." His writing went beyond a journal and created a means to think about our very surroundings in an entire new light.

If I had the nod from God I would add one more and include Gene Stratton-Porter. Her voice made us aware that natural resources are limited.

Too many of these voices we lost before their time was done... Rachel to cancer, Edith tragically drowned while gathering buds on the Thames and Aldo to a horrible field fire.

One dinner to have all of them speak, as they did so elegantly in life, so we HEAR what we need to know doesn't seem too much to ask for.

1 Einstein. To explain how you can believe in god and science at the same time.
2 Genghis Khan. To tell us just how he pronounces his name. Appparently Mongols today call him "Jengis Haan'.
3 Oscar Wilde. Though he'd have to be told to not hog the conversation too much.
4 The Dalai Lama. Just for his smile. He wouldn't have to say anything. (Wilde would love that).
5. Jesus. To tell us what it was like to have actually met Barrabas. (Lol!). And to do a few party tricks as well. "Wine water, water, wine".
6 Cassandra. Who would add some charm and sophistication to the proceedings.

More often than not I have gotten crap from the 6 card boosters. At least with the 15 card boosters you are guaranteed at least a Rare or Mythic from that set. More often I found in the 6 card pack that the "rare" slot is an uncommon. If you are just getting back in definitely go with the core set M11 as it will give you a better base of cards to start with than buying into either Scars of Mirrodin or Zendikar/
