Don't listen to anyone, and name her what you want. In my opinion- Calypso..I LOVE that word. When I heard it a few years ago in music class, I tried to incorporate it in my everyday life...it didn't sound too good.
Calypso-Caribbean dance music: Caribbean dance music that has syncopated rhythms, is usually improvised, and is often played by a steel band.
I like this name a lot, it's upbeat and interesting. And it doesn't matter that it's a word. Most people don't know that Tiffany, Jennifer, Jasmine and Daphne are also words that are used as names.
THE WORLD DOESN'T NEED ANYMORE JENNIFERS, ASHLEYS, BRITTANYS, TIFFANYS, BRIANAS, STACEYS, MICHELLES, AMANDAS, STEPHANIES, EMILYS, JASMINES, JESSICAS, ELIZABETHS,CHRISTINAS,LACEYS, or KAYLAS.
Go with it, I LOVE IT.

Calypso?? You cant be serious!! Thats insane. As for the rest, Kendall and Peyton sound boyish to me, Daisy and Endora sound like my grandmothers names, and Bindi, what is that? The only ones I would suggest you name your child are
Brooklyn
Gracie
Ashlyn
Chloe
They sound girly and cute, my favorites are Chloe and Gracie.
God bless and happy naming!

In the book the Odyssey, Calypso is not the best characters, she's one of the most unfavored goddess in history. She was a deviant woman and none of the other gods interacted with her. I do know of other not as well known people in history who weren't as bad. Also, I'd check out what it means cause, besides being a goddess, it could mean somethings else.

For a lady, I quite like Ava Rachael, Olivia Rachael (the 'A' is somewhat bizarre), Julia Rachael, and Kendra Rachael. As for a boy, Tristan is a high-quality identify, Tristan Patrick Morgan sounds well! I additionally like Cameron Andrew Morgan, Brandon Patrick Morgan, Ethan Patrick Morgan, and Jonah Andrew Morgan. Good success :)

Well I think the child might be a little upset if she had too much of an exotic name, but then again, children are never really satisfied with their names :p.
I'm trying to use all of my honesty here, I don't think the child would like growing up with that name.

Calypso is a type of music from Trinidad and Tobago, that is where I am from. Honestly it sound cool, but don't name your daughter that, it just doesn't match as a name for someone.
