The exact figure of active duty deaths is 7,500, there is no rounding of numbers. Divide that by eight and you get 937.5 deaths a year, ever hear of a half a soldier? The numbers are correct, just answer the question.

Well, from 1993 to 2000 the US was not involved in a foreign occupation following a war based on lies. Seriously, did you not know this? It really isn't that hard to figure out. You should have paid more attention in Social Studies class. Or are you just trying to stir up some emotions?
Your active duty deaths does not appear in your question when I answer. Who the hell protests and gets upset at "active duty" deaths? That could include those who died in a car accident, drug overdose, botched surgery or any number of random ways in which people die. The outrage, moral indignation, and protests you speak of are over the military deaths as a result of war. So, what's your point?

J, if that statistic is not purely bogus, then it applies to all armed forces, not just those stationed in Iraq.
3400 soldiers who died in Iraq. But hey, that is ok, because their deaths aid corporate profits. The soldiers who died trying to keep the peace in Bosnia and Somalia--their deaths were wasted, because no one made lots of money off of them.

Um, there was lots of protests. Clinton pulled out of Somalia because of pressure from the country and the government. there were also many critics to his military engagement with Serbia.

why the round number of 7,500? would like to know the actual number if you know it please. Btw, when you divide the rounded number to get 938, you should probably round that too, to 900, consistent with the rounding rule applied to 7,500.

Finally, I'm glad you pointed that out. It was OK for Clinton though, he wasn't "officially" waging a "war". Just a skirmish or two I guess. Bush, at the very least is up front about what he is doing and went about it by seeking the approval of Congress.
