Liberals pining for universal health care argue too many in this country are denied health care. When? Can anyone give an example? Maybe it's me but I didn't think doctors or hospitals could deny a patient care. Somebody explain what you mean by denying health care, I'm not trying to be cute, I just want to know if what you are meaning to say is that not all people get the "same" health care. I'm not sure people can be "denied" it.

FISH: The taxpayer funded "free clinic" offered you health care. Perhaps you should get a job if you want "better" health care, but you were offered care nevertheless.

Bbriggs: Did you perchance mean to say were instead of where or are you demonstrating your innate ignorance of basic grammar for the rest of us. Basically your goofy response admits health care is NOT denied. Thanks for validating the point, go back to the welfare line now and try reading a book without pictures in it for a change.

Well I was going to use my mom as an example, but she wasn't "denied" health care, she has a doctor that allows her to make payments and makes sure she gets all the necessary medication she needs at affordable prices.. She's also on Oxygen.. But they set her up on a deal where she pays very little for her oxygen. And she gets her blood work done for free. I guess you can't complain about that. She is currently being denied social security and medicare, but that is still being appealed and she may end up getting it in the long run.. They say it's common for people to denied S.S. the first time around. She isn't to retirement age yet, but she is not able to work anymore.. She did work for over 30 years and payed her money into S.S. What is crap is I know people on the welfare system who have never worked a day in their lives and one is a healthy middle aged man who has 7 children by 2 women and he gets medical and welfare when he is perfectly capable of working....

Your right about one thing they aren't SUPPOSE to be able to deny health care. I have seen doctors refuse to take patients because of no insurance and hospitals turn them away because of the same, of course this isn't in an emergency situation. They have to provide in an emergency.....makes you wonder though what kind of care is provided if they would turn you away in a non-emergency situation...oh and yes Ive been a hospital nurse for 25 years Ive seen alot. I hope you can always keep your insurance or your health otherwise I'm afraid you might see first hand what the liberals are trying to say.

You realize that "to be denied" something, someone doesn't have to come up to you and tell you "NO"? You can be "denied" adequate (that means good enough) healthcare, because of a lack of access to doctors, effective medical resources, or lack of financial resources. You may not have "learnt" this but a hospital can refuse to admit you (because of your inability to pay) if your health issue is not an "emergency".

You cannot be denied 'life threatening situation' care however you can be denied anything up to that (aside from pregnancy/ OB).
Obviously, the longer you wait the more chances a small problem may turn life threatening so it usually gets treated by an ER quickly for walk-ins.
You can get treated in most hospitals but you will have to pay for it later...and pay for it you will. With ICU care running about $15,000 / day don't get really sick.

Scott, how many times where you dropped on your head as a kid. MOst of us have been dropped at least once but your lack of mental capacity means that you were chronically dropped on your head. Services are denied to people who can't afford it. If your gonna die and need to go to the emergency room then the doctors can't deny you but if you need a cat scan to determine if you have cancer, if you don't have insurance or enough money to foot the bill, the docotor or hospital doesn't have to perform the cat scan. Are you new to this country?

It's illegal for hospitals to deny healthcare; however, I think they may be talking about health insurance. Plenty of people who work low-end jobs are not offered health insurance through their employers.
